Enter a futuristic war in Vortex for the Super Nintendo. You control the Morphing Battle System, an advanced combat machine deployed against the enemy Aki-Do Forces. Across a series of missions, you enter hostile territory to destroy important targets and attack heavily defended bases.
The machine’s greatest ability is its power to transform between different forms, including a robot, tank, aircraft and high-speed vehicle. Each form has its own characteristics and is suited to different situations, requiring you to switch regularly during missions. From a 3D perspective, you explore areas, destroy enemies and use a variety of weapons to complete your objectives.
Vortex uses Nintendo’s Super FX chip to produce polygonal 3D graphics on the Super Nintendo. This makes the game stand apart from many traditional 2D action titles on the system and gives it a distinctive technical presentation for the 16-bit era. This EUR edition is an interesting addition for fans of early 3D games, futuristic action and Super Nintendo collectors.
