The Godfather - PlayStation 2
Enter the dangerous criminal underworld of New York in The Godfather for the PlayStation 2, based on Francis Ford Coppola’s famous film. Create your own character and begin at the bottom of the Corleone family before gradually working your way up through the organisation. The story weaves your own missions into familiar events and encounters with characters from the movie.
Gameplay combines third-person action, gunfights, driving and an extensive extortion system. Complete assignments for the Corleones, fight rival Mafia families and convince local businesses to pay for protection. A variety of weapons and close-range attacks can be used, while intimidation plays an important role in expanding your influence.
Alongside the story missions, you can freely travel through different areas of New York and take control of businesses, warehouses and other locations belonging to rival families. As your reputation grows, you rise further through the Corleone family and gain access to new opportunities. The Godfather combines the story and atmosphere of the film with an open action game where you build your own position within the Mafia.
