Tekken 3 - PlayStation 1
Enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament once again in Tekken 3 for the PlayStation 1. Set years after Tekken 2, the game introduces a new generation of fighters including Jin Kazama, Hwoarang, Eddy Gordo and Ling Xiaoyu. Familiar characters such as Heihachi Mishima, Paul Phoenix and Yoshimitsu also return.
Gameplay focuses on fast one-on-one battles, combos, counters and different fighting styles. Each fighter has an extensive selection of attacks and special techniques, while the 3D arenas also allow you to move sideways and evade incoming attacks. Timing, defence and mastering your favourite character are therefore important parts of every fight.
Alongside the traditional Arcade Mode, Tekken 3 includes several additional game modes, including Tekken Force and the unusual Tekken Ball. Multiple characters and other extras can also be unlocked, providing plenty to discover beyond the standard battles. With its extensive roster, smooth fighting mechanics and varied game modes, Tekken 3 became one of the most recognisable fighting games of the PlayStation 1 era.
