Take control of the R-9 and enter the battle in R-Type for the SEGA Master System. In this classic shoot ’em up, you face the alien Bydo Empire and fly through dangerous environments packed with enemies, obstacles and imposing bosses.
Blast your way through the different stages and collect power-ups to strengthen your spacecraft. Central to the gameplay is the Force unit, which can be attached to the front or rear of the R-9 and used as both an additional weapon and protection. You can also charge your main weapon to unleash powerful shots against larger threats.
R-Type is known for its challenging gameplay, distinctive enemy designs and stages where careful timing and positioning are essential. The Master System version brings the famous arcade action to SEGA’s 8-bit console while also featuring additional content unique to this version. This PAL edition is an interesting addition for fans of classic shoot ’em ups and SEGA Master System collectors.
