Return to the world of tactical espionage in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for the PlayStation 3. Set in 1984, the story follows Venom Snake, who awakens after nine years in a coma and sets out to find those responsible for the destruction of his former organisation. His mission takes him to locations including Afghanistan and Central Africa.
Gameplay combines stealth, open environments, tactical freedom and extensive missions. Infiltrate enemy bases without being detected, silently neutralise guards or choose a direct assault using firearms and explosives. Time of day, weather conditions, vehicles, equipment and different support companions can all influence the way you approach each mission.
The Fulton system allows you to extract soldiers, vehicles and other valuable resources back to Mother Base. From there, you can expand your organisation, develop new weapons and improve your capabilities for future missions. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain offers extensive freedom, combining the series' familiar stealth mechanics with a larger and more open game world.
