Shrek Forever After - UKV - Nintendo DS
Return to the humorous fairy-tale world of DreamWorks with Shrek Forever After for the Nintendo DS. Released in 2010, this action-adventure game is based on the animated film of the same name, the fourth instalment in the popular Shrek film series. Featuring familiar characters, colourful environments and a variety of challenges, the game brings the green ogre's adventure to Nintendo's handheld console.
The story begins when Shrek starts longing for his former life as a feared ogre. His everyday routine as a husband and father feels very different from the adventures he once enjoyed. When he meets the cunning Rumpelstiltskin, he agrees to a deal with unexpected consequences. Shrek finds himself in an alternate reality where his friends no longer recognise him and the kingdom of Far Far Away is controlled by Rumpelstiltskin.
To restore everything to normal, Shrek must find his friends and attempt to break the spell. Throughout the adventure, you encounter familiar characters, including Donkey, Fiona and Puss in Boots. Each character contributes to the recognisable atmosphere of the Shrek films, combining humour, fantasy and adventure.
Gameplay combines action, platforming elements and straightforward puzzle-solving. You explore different fairy-tale environments, confront enemies and overcome obstacles. Along the way, you discover new areas and complete objectives to progress through the story.
The Nintendo DS version has been adapted to the capabilities of the handheld system and offers its own interpretation of the film's adventure. The colourful presentation and recognisable locations reflect the DreamWorks universe, while the different challenges provide variety throughout the game.
