Final Fantasy IX - PlayStation 1
Enter the magical world of Gaia in Final Fantasy IX for the PlayStation 1. The story begins when Zidane Tribal and the Tantalus theatre troupe attempt to kidnap Princess Garnet of Alexandria. Garnet, however, wants to leave her kingdom herself, leading Zidane, Vivi, Steiner and their companions into an increasingly large conflict that will determine the fate of the world.
Gameplay combines exploration, strategic RPG combat, magic and extensive character development. Each character has their own abilities and a distinct role within the party. New abilities are learned through weapons and equipment, while the Active Time Battle system makes timing an important part of combat. The Trance system can also temporarily give characters access to more powerful abilities.
Throughout the adventure, you explore different towns, dungeons and hidden areas while discovering numerous side quests, secrets and minigames. The Tetra Master card game also provides an extensive activity alongside the main story. With its classic fantasy setting, expansive story and memorable characters, Final Fantasy IX is a distinctive entry in the Final Fantasy series and an appealing title for RPG enthusiasts and PlayStation 1 collectors.
