Earthworm Jim 2 - EUR - Super Nintendo
Return to the bizarre and humorous world of Earthworm Jim 2 for the Super Nintendo. Released in 1995, this action-packed platform game is the sequel to the original Earthworm Jim. With its distinctive cartoon style, imaginative levels and unusual gameplay, the game expands on the unique combination of action, platforming challenges and comedy that made the series so memorable.
In Earthworm Jim 2, you once again take control of Jim, an ordinary earthworm who has become an unlikely superhero thanks to a powerful space suit. This time, Jim must rescue the kidnapped Princess What's-Her-Name from the villainous Psy-Crow. Along the way, he travels through a series of strange worlds filled with unexpected enemies, absurd situations and unusual challenges.
The gameplay combines platforming action, shooting and a variety of minigames. Jim can jump, attack enemies with his trusty blaster and use his own worm body as a whip. He also gains access to several unusual weapons and abilities. The levels regularly introduce different gameplay mechanics, meaning you will do much more than simply defeat enemies as you solve puzzles and complete special challenges.
One of the game's most memorable sequences involves catching and protecting Peter Puppy's puppies. Other stages introduce completely different mechanics, including an underwater section where you control a blind cave salamander. These unexpected changes help Earthworm Jim 2 stand apart from more conventional platform games.
The game is also known for its detailed animations, colourful environments and distinctive soundtrack. Jim's expressive movements and the humorous visual presentation give the adventure a strong cartoon identity. At the same time, the different enemies, obstacles and level mechanics provide plenty of challenges for players looking to test their platforming skills.
This particular release is the EUR edition for the Super Nintendo, intended for the European market. The EUR region code identifies the regional release and is of interest to collectors who pay attention to different Nintendo editions and packaging variations.
With its original humour, varied gameplay and recognisable main character, Earthworm Jim 2 is a distinctive title in the Super Nintendo library. An appealing addition for fans of classic platform games, 1990s gaming and original SNES releases.
